FOOT NOTE

During the existence of the Fort’s at Point Pleasant there is no known roster of the men and women who served at the forts. Most are listed as served in county militia of the county they lived in at the time they served. There is a distinction between those who fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant and those who served in the defense of the frontier forts at Point Pleasant. In 1774 the County of Botetourt included the resent site of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. It should be noted that those Revolutionary War Soldiers who filed for pension claims included their service at Point Pleasant.

A list of those known is provided in the Battle Monument State Park Section of this Website. Click here to go to that page
