NOTE
During the existence of the Fort’s
at Point Pleasant there is no known roster of the men and women who served at
the forts. Most are listed as served in county militia of the county they lived
in at the time they served. There is a distinction between those who fought in
the Battle of Point Pleasant and those who served in the defense of the frontier
forts at Point Pleasant. In 1774 the County of Botetourt included the resent
site of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. It should be noted that those
Revolutionary War Soldiers who filed for pension claims included their service
at Point Pleasant.
